Protection of International Trademark: -

There is no system has been devised or developed as yet wherein a single Trademark application is requisite to protect the right of the Trademark Internationally. The member Countries can claim priority of 6 months in filing the subsequent application in other member Countries according to Paris convention. There are very few countries that have joined hands together for making a single Trademark application as sufficient and applicable in protecting the Trademark rights in their respective countries. The European Union consisting of 15 countries has adopted single window Trademark registration system which is Called Community Trademark (com) wherein a single Trademark application protects the interest of Trademark in 15 member countries and the benefit of com can also be availed by non - European Unions and in com prior registration is not necessary for obtaining the registration. Recently O.A.P.I. A group of African nations have replaced their national Trademark office with one common Trademark office for registration.
